Visiting the library

From Thursday 21 January, all staff and students wishing to access the library must show proof of a recent negative Covid-19 test received within the last five days. Click this link for full details.

We recommend only visiting the Library if it is really necessary. Only current staff and students can visit at the moment. You can request books to pick up from the entrance using out click and collect service and even request books be posted to you to save you visiting. Visit our lockdown services webpage to see the full range of services available.

Getting tested

If you have no symptoms, you can book a test in advance at the Spinnaker Sports Centre. If you have any Covid symptoms you must isolate immediately and arrange a test through NHS Test and Trace; you must not come on to campus or use any university facilities until you have taken a Covid test and received a negative result.

Before you visit

  • You will also need to book a time slot to come into the Library.  (This is not necessary for picking up books requested through Click and collect or to return books.)
  • Please bring a face mask or visor to wear in the Library. Face coverings must be worn at all times when in the building, including when sat at a desk. Unless you are medically exempt from wearing either a mask or a visor you will be asked to leave if you are not wearing a face covering.
  • We are piloting a temperature monitoring system at the Library entrance.
