Ebooks – in stock and on demand
Even before the lockdown, we had over 700,000 ebooks available – available here as well as through a normal Discovery search. Since lockdown, key textbooks and other ebooks have been made available through Discovery to compensate for the lack of printed textbook availability, and several publishers have made extra selections of ebooks available until 30 June. It is uncertain whether this deadline will be extended if the lockdown continues.
For other ebooks, you may need to follow the direct link to the ebook available in their Discovery or Library catalogue record. Some have been added to your online reading lists. More are being added as titles become available. Faculty Librarians have also been sending lists of relevant links to lecturers, so you may find some ebook links made available on your Moodle sites.
When an ebook cannot be found
If you can’t find the ebook you want, please mail firstname.lastname@example.org or your own Faculty Librarian or use our 24/7 chat. It might be that we are able to buy it to support your study. Sadly, not all books are available as ebooks. Don’t forget to look at your online reading list for alternative suggestions. Your Faculty Librarian may also be able to suggest alternative information sources. As a last resort, extracts from the book might be available online through Google Books.
