Enter the new Westlaw (5 August 2019)

Judge's gavelAs reported earlier this summer, Westlaw is changing.  While we hope you will enjoy the new interface, if only because you have very little choice in the matter, if you personalise your Westlaw account, there are number of things you will may need to do to set up your account on the new system just the way you like it.

Changes you can expect to see

You will need to register for a OnePass profile the first time you log into the new Westlaw system.  This is a one time only set-up.  OnePass profile will then be connected automatically to your institutional login.

Your existing folders in Westlaw will not be copied to the new Westlaw. You will need to review your existing folders and choose which to recreate in the new system. The old system will be supported in parallel with the new one for several weeks. The new folder system is reportedly more sophisticated, with additional sharing and annotation options and a new favourites feature.

Your alerts will not be migrated to the new system. You will need to recreate any alerts you wish to continue to receive in the new system.

If you have any questions or concerns, please get in touch and we will be happy to help you.
