Finding your books – from phone to shelf

Finding your books is easiest using your phone. A little web app we built allows you to click on the “locate on shelf” button for any book that is available in the library (it won’t work if all the copies are out on loan to other people or you are looking at an ebook) and get shown a floor plan showing on which shelves your books can be found. Once you find the floor and shelf, you can find the book using its classmark (shelfmark) number), which is also given in the catalogue.

Of course, if you have any difficulty, please chat to a member of our team. They typically hang out in the Atrium waiting to help anyone who is getting started or getting stuck but please feel free to ask any member of staff.

Once you have the book(s) you want, you can issue them to yourself so that you can take them away from the library using the same self-service kiosks you will use to return them. This video explains.
