Love to ride?

Cyclist and walkers on a seafront.

Love to Ride Portsmouth has just launched its ‘Winter Wheelers’ – a reward scheme for grown-ups, although I understand anyone aged 18 and over can take part! 😉

Register with the scheme and cycle for at least 10 minutes each day and you could win daily prizes every day during December as the scheme opens the digital windows of its advent calendar.

Prizes include a reportedly “amazing” winter cycling kit from Proviz and Loffi, and they are giving away an entire e-bike on Christmas Day!

Click here to register and get your bike ready to ride!

Ebikes are great if you like riding out into the countryside where you can fly down hills and charge the electric battery and then relax as the motor helps you up the next, but they can also be helpful in flat counties like Hampshire since as your legs get more tired you can pedal less and be powered along more.

Cycling of any sort is great outdoors activity and is just about always socially distanced, helping you stay mentally and physically healthy and allowing you to enjoy the sights, sounds and roadways of Portsmouth. While you are cycling, you are also freeing up space on public transport for key workers, the elderly, and anyone who never learned to ride.

There’s never been a better time to try riding in winter: join the friendly, supportive Love to Ride community today and follow them on TwitterFacebook and Instagram to stay updated.
