Don’t leave library staff get lonely. Chat to them online!

Referencing enquiry being answered via online chat on a mobile phone

Our Enquiries Team is now mostly working remotely and that means there are more experts staffing chat than ever before. Don’t let them get lonely! Chat to them today about finding, using or referencing our resources. They are just a button click away, 24/7!

New to online chat?

If you have yet to try online chat, just visit the Library homepage and click on the blue and white button with the speech bubble and “Chat to us 24/7” written across it.  Type in your question, hit “enter” and away you go.  You can enter links, upload and receive screenshots and chat to your heart’s content.

If you are really stuck, the librarian can even invite you to let them show you how to get something to work by remotely sharing your computer for a few minutes.  Don’t worry – you get to stay in control all the time!

If you’re still not sure chat is for you, you can still call 023 9284 3228 anytime day or night or email us and we will reply to you, usually within a few minutes during office hours.

Remember that Information Services (IS), the University IT support team, are here to help you as well.  You can call them with any IT issues unrelated to library products and services on 023 9284 7777.
