Fashion revolution week
Wednesday 25 April – Clothes swap
From 12 to 2 pm, the popular clothes swap returns to Eldon Foyer (all proceeds going to Fashion Revolution)! Bring in your quality unloved or outgrown items of clothing and swap them for something else to love. Bring your clothes to swap by 11 am and then start swapping from noon or buy clothes for just £1. Menswear is particularly in demand!
Thursday 26th April – Trashion remake
Students will be deconstructing and reconstructing items unclaimed at the Clothes Swap and make new clothes for themselves to wear and love!
2.00 to 3.30 pm in the Fashion and Textiles Studio – SU:STAIN Workshop and Talk
Designer, Artist and Educator, Georgina Hooper from SU:STAIN will be leading a thoughtful and creative session encouraging us to bring consciousness to our making and consumption choices. Places are limited and we suggest a donation to Fashion Revolution. Please book your place on Eventbrite to avoid disappointment.
Friday 27th April – Fashion First Aid
Mending and alteration service. For a small donation, two of our final year students will repair, mend or alter your well loved clothes so you can keep wearing them. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange some Fashion First Aid for your clothes.
Trashion Photoshoot Rewear – Students will be capturing the outcomes of their upcycling in a photoshoot. Check out #UoPFashRev for the results!
My life in vintage – 5.30pm Eldon Building EW1.11
Fashion historian, commentator and BBC broadcaster Amber Butchart will be presenting her talk called ‘My Life In Vintage’. Wearing vintage and second-hand clothing is a fun and creative way to make better choices about how we express ourselves in what we wear without feeding the demand for the manufacture of new trend-driven mass-produced garments. Book your place now to avoid disappointment.
