Resolved: Noise disruption: intermittent chiming alarm

Update 12.12.17 – This noise problem has now been resolved.  Thank you for your patience.

We apologise for the three-tone chiming alarm sounding at intervals in one part of the Library.  The cause has been identified and while we cannot silence it straight away, Estates have been notified and we understand the underlying cause will be fixed very soon.

It is likely to be much less audible in Areas 0B, 1B (for individual silent study) and 2B, reached most directly from the wooden staircase in the Atrium.  Earplugs are available from the Welcome Desk.  Thank you for your patience and understanding.
