British Library appoints Jen Calleja as inaugural Translator in Residence

The British Library has appointed its first Translator in Residence, Jen Calleja, a writer, literary translator and musician, with support from the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC).  The post is expected to and further the growing field of translation and creativity and help cultivate public interest in questions of translation, multilingualism and creativity.  Using the British Library’s extensive multilingual collections of recordings and printed materials from around the world the Translator in Residence will also be able to lead research into how stories travel between languages and cultures.
