Security error for MyiLibrary ebooks in Chrome (resolved)

Update 16.02.17, 10.00 am – MyiLibrary is now working normally in all browsers, including Chrome.   Thank you for your patience.

Update 16.02.17, 9 am – Proquest have advised that they have identified the problem and are working to correct it, and expect to resolve the problem soon.

MyiLibrary ebooks have started displaying a security error message when accessed using the Chrome browser when logging in away from the University campus other than via the VPN or Web Proxy:

“Your connection is not private. Attackers might be trying to steal your information from (for example, passwords, messages or credit cards), NET:ERR_CERT_WEAK_SIGNATURE_ALGORITHIM”

The supplier, Proquest, claim the error message is a result of changes to the security protocols used by Chrome, which now displays this warning when visiting any site lacking certain security certificates.

To get around the problem you may choose to click “Advanced” and “Continue” (at your own risk), or use another browser such as Firefox or Internet Explorer.
