Adding to the collection: librarians as authors

Cover image of Casanova's autobiography (Penguin edition)Librarians are usually pictured curating collections, nowadays of predominantly electronic resources.  Surrounded by literature and studies of all kinds, it is perhaps unsurprising that some librarians have also taken to writing books themselves.  Second-hand bookseller Abe Books has brought together a few highlights from the world of librarian authorship, from tales of murder in the library to Casanova’s autobiography.  Only they seem to have left out “The Thoughts of Chairman Mao” (China’s famous ‘Little Red Book’).  Perhaps they did not want to upset their librarian customers by reminding them that some of the world’s nastiest dictators have also been librarians.
