Drawing a blank (map)

Is it just me or does this nautical chart look irresistibly recall to mind an episode of Blackadder II where the protagonist was handed a map of where he would be going on his next voyage asked if he would fill it in as he went.  It is perhaps sensible to point out at this juncture that 71% of the Earth’s surface is covered in water, and that the 29% that is land is (happily) not evenly distributed, forming the large continents most people live on, so such maps of the Earth’s surface are far from uncommon.  It just goes to show that the most interesting things at sea play out beneath the surface.  Click here for more fun Ocean facts.
