Artists’ Books displayed in Eldon Building

Just opposite the Art Shop in the Eldon Building, you will see a set of 3 cabinets displaying a collection of Artists’ Books – books made or conceived by an artist. The books on display which have been made by artists are from a collection held by University of Portsmouth’s Illustration Department. This large collection of artists’ books, can be viewed on the Ministry of Books website and can be consulted on request. Those conceived by artists are from the University Library Collections and many are available to borrow. The Library also has many books about artists’ books.

Look out for an ‘Open Cabinet’ event where you can come and handle these and more of the collections. We’ll keep you posted.
