IEEE usage

We’re always excited to see, sometimes expensive, databases being well used and our IEEE Explore database is just one of the many technology databases we collect statistics on.

The top five journals with the most downloads for September were all IEEE Transactions and in order of most popular are:

  • Neural Systems and Rehabilitation Engineering
  • Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence
  • Biomedical Engineering
  • Microwave Theory and Techniques
  • Systems, Man and Cybernetics, Part A: Systems and Humans

(The second and the third of those are also in the top five for the most downloads for the year so far).

IEEE Explore is, of course, a terrific resource for those looking for journal articles and conference papers in all manner of engineering disciplines.  But there are also items on civil engineering, mathematics, computing and more, so do check it out.  You can get to it from the Engineering ‘My Subject’ pages or from the catalogue record here: http://capitadiscovery.co.uk/port/items/883080

Let us know if you’ve found something in IEEE Xplore that’s been particularly useful for your research – there’ll be a small prize for most interesting.  Email us at library@port.ac.uk with the subject line: FAO of the Faculty Librarian (Technology)
