A life less Gen Ref

We bid a fond farewell to our old General Reference (Gen Ref) collection.  As part of a move towards a single shelf mark sequence for all books, all the books in “general reference” are now shelved as part of the main book stock.  These books that cannot be loaned now have “Library Use Only” spine stickers in place of the old red tape above the shelf mark label. With reference works increasingly moving online and these collections now diminished in size and prominence, it now makes sense now to include the few remaining books as part of the main shelf mark sequence.
