Considering a Masters degree next year?

The Higher Education funding body, HEFCE, have made funding available for one-off bursaries for both final year students, and also for women considering taking Masters degrees in Technology subjects to study for a full-time Masters degree next year.

The University of Portsmouth Postgraduate Support Scheme (PSS) provides an excellent opportunity for our current final year undergraduates to gain a Master’s qualification supported by a generous financial package contributing to the cost of their studies. Each award will cover tuition fees, with the remainder paid termly to students as a bursary towards living costs.

The Postgraduate Support Scheme website explains who is eligable and how to apply.  Applications must be received by 17 May 2015.

No eligible courses for performing arts students?! That’s ridiculous. There is just as much value studying theatre culture as any technology subject. First we get cut from national curriculum and now they are trying to drive us out of education all together! Hopefully someone realises before it’s too late!

Apologies for the confusion. As you may see from the Postgraduate Student Support website, students may apply for any course, although priority is given to support minority groups and subjects. According to Professor Harper (@ProfCathHarper) on Twitter: “…we don’t yet run a PG course in Performing Arts, but [this would be] worth discussing this with your tutors for development”.
