This week sees the preparation for building work getting under way, with trolleys of boxes arriving ready for all the ground floor books, DVDs and journals to be packed away. Sadly, this necessary work means you will no longer be able to browse the shelves on the ground floor from today. There is also some planned electrical disruption likely later in the week.
Getting things from the ground floor
If you need anything normally shelved on the ground floor, including anything with a shelf mark number between 001-329 and printed journals described as being shelved in “GROUND FLOOR JOURNALS” on the Library catalogue or Discovery Service, please complete a reservation card (or for distance learners, fill in the online book or chapter request form as usual). We will be making changes to Library systems to allow you to request items online later this week. Watch this space for more details.
Power supply disruption (5-6 June)
Our electrical contractors are carrying out work on Thursday and Friday (5-6 June) that might cause intermittent power outages in the Library, mainly affecting the ground floor. Please save your work regularly, and keep back up versions of your important files under different names, especially if you are using a networked Library computer on these days.
