We’re Feeling a Bit Blue

blue_day_2014_posterThe library is at it again, any excuse to dress up…

This time we are pleased to support “Blue Day”. This event has been held in Portsmouth since 2008 and is run in conjunction with Portsmouth Football Club and The News. People in the city are encouraged to have fun and wear something blue to raise funds for the Tom Prince Cancer Trust.

Tom Prince was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma (bone cancer) of the left humerus in Feb 2003 and after a long period of treatment and an operation to replace his humerus with a titanium implant, he sadly passed away in Oct 2004. His parents set up the trust to fund research into this terrible disease.

So feel free to say hello to your friendly library staff who are donning blue for the day, including some fetching wigs…
