Stars in the Aisles

Attended the preview of a fun exhibition in Eldon last night, Stars in the Aisles: A History of the Cinema Usherette.  We were served ice-cream by an usherette and there was plenty of popcorn to go around too!  Eva Balogh, the Art and Design Library Liaison officer, was our host.  I even learnt a few things about customer service to share with the library team…

This is taken from the ABC (Associated British Cinema) Staff Manual:

Cultivate individual attention, make each patron you serve feel that he or she is your special care and that it is your special privilege to attend to his or her needs.

Don’t expect to find all patrons alike; make allowances for individual peculiarities.  The average patron will appreciate your efforts to please.
