Life in a Day

Ridley Scott has created a historic cinematic experiment. Life in a Day is an attempt to document one day on Earth. On the 24th July 2010 people where asked to record their lives and upload their video to YouTube. There were 80,000 submissions and the best are now being editied into a documentry film. You can check out the video’s and see how the editing is going on the Life in a Day YouTube channel.

  1. I saw this a couple of days ago… It was one of the most emotional film I’ve seen in a long time.
You can argue that some of it might be slightly heavy-handed (a shot of a cow being killed on camera is then, non very subtlety, cut together with a man eating from a bowl of spaghetti), but some of the choices are absolutely inspired
It’s the amalgamation of all these little snippets of life that makes the film an incredible watch and in the end it ends up actually telling a story as the ordinary becomes extraordinary.
