Google Street View

Google launched its Street View service in the UK last week. Portsmouth has yet to be covered, but Users of Google Earth can at least have a close look at Southampton.

Street View has raised all sorts of privacy issues. Since the launch, several images have been removed following complaints, including one of the entrance to Downing Street. The Telegraph is just one of many sites that has posted some of the ‘funny’ images captured by Google’s customised camera cars:

  1. TOTD has since learnt that the state legislature in the U.S. state of Louisiana has passed a law adding at least one year to the sentence of any criminal found guilty of using an “Internet, virtual, street-level map” like Street View to commit a crime.
